UNICEF also supported eight schools in the most excluded and invisible areas of the Gaza Strip with
"This support aims at reaching more than 7400 excluded and invisible kids living in the most vulnerable areas such as Al Mawasi, Namsawi of Khan Younis and Juhr Edeek in Middle area of the Gaza Strip," the media release pointed out.
It added that "the learning achievement of Palestinian students in occupied Palestinian territory (OPT) is declining, in particular in the worst affected areas. According to the 2004 Math and Science Achievement Test (TIMMS) conducted in OPT by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), OPT was among the lowest ranking countries. The quality of the educational services is hampered by restricted access and lack of essential supplies."
